CS2 Damage Calculator

Weapons in CS2 deal less damage at longer distances. Each weapon has a damage range modifier that reduces the base damage over distance. Rifles lose roughly 1-2% damage per 10 meters, while pistols and SMGs lose more. Shotguns have the steepest falloff.

A helmet is required to reduce headshot damage. Kevlar alone does not protect the head. With a helmet, damage is reduced based on the weapon's armor penetration percentage. High armor penetration weapons like the AK-47 and Desert Eagle can still one-tap through a helmet.

CS2 uses four hit groups with different damage multipliers: Head (4x base damage), Chest/Arms (1x), Stomach (1.25x), and Legs (0.75x). Leg shots are never reduced by armor.

Yes. The AK-47 deals 36 base damage with 77.5% armor penetration. A headshot multiplied by 4x yields 144 base damage, and even after helmet reduction and distance falloff at close to medium range, it exceeds 100 HP, making it a one-shot kill.

The AWP has 115 base damage and 97.5% armor penetration, making it lethal in a single body shot or headshot at virtually any range. Only a leg shot at long range may not kill in one hit.

Yes. Leg shots bypass armor entirely in CS2. This means the damage dealt to legs is only affected by the base damage, distance modifier, and the 0.75x leg hit group multiplier, regardless of whether the target wears kevlar or a helmet.
