Role Overview

What Makes a Great Entry Fragger
- Fearless aggression combined with smart decision-making
- Excellent raw aim and fast reaction time
- Strong understanding of common defensive positions
- Willingness to die first so the team can succeed
The Trade System
Your entry creates value only if your team is ready to trade. A successful entry sequence looks like this:
- Entry fragger pushes in with a flash
- Gets a kill or calls the enemy position
- Second player immediately trades the entry fragger if needed
- Team floods the site with a numbers advantage
Pre-Round Preparation
3 min
Great entry fragging starts before the round begins. Gathering information and reading your opponent gives you a significant advantage when the time comes to push.
Reading Opponents
- Note which players hold which positions each round
- Track utility usage to identify gaps in defense
- Recognize if a site defender plays aggressively or passively
- Identify patterns in rotations and stack tendencies
Utility Timing
- Coordinate flashes with your support player before the round
- Know exactly when smokes will bloom during the execute
- Time your entry to hit right after a popflash
- Be aware of enemy utility cooldowns from earlier rounds
Entry Techniques
4 min
The way you enter a site determines whether you get the opening kill or feed the enemy a free frag. Master these techniques to maximize your first-duel success rate.
Popflash Entry
Have your support player throw a flash that pops the instant you peek. The defender is blinded for 1-2 seconds, giving you a massive advantage in the duel.
Wide Swing
Swing wide and far from the angle to force the defender to make a large crosshair adjustment. Best against AWPers who hold tight angles.
Shoulder Peek to Bait
Quick-peek to bait a shot, then swing wide immediately after. Punishes defenders who commit to the first peek.
Double Peek
Enter together with a teammate from different angles, making it impossible for one defender to cover both. Communication and timing are critical.
Communication
3 min
As the entry fragger, you are the first player to see the enemy setup. Your callouts before and after dying are some of the most valuable information your team receives.
- Call before you peek. Tell your team exactly where you are entering so they are ready to trade and follow up instantly.
- Call what you see, not what you think. Say "one site, one short" rather than "I think they are stacking." Factual calls prevent misjudgments.
- Give damage info immediately. If you hit someone for 80 damage, your team needs to know before you finish speaking. Prioritize: position, count, damage.
- Keep death comms short. After dying, give one concise callout and stop talking. Cluttering comms with frustration or analysis hurts your team.
Example Callout Sequence
"Flashing in A main, peek with me"
"One site, one triple box"
"Traded one, second triple box, 60HP"
Map-Specific Tips
4 min
Every map has unique entry points that favor the entry fragger. Knowing the best paths and common defensive setups lets you plan your approach round by round.
| Map | Best Entry Point | Key Tip |
|---|---|---|
Mirage | A Ramp with flash support | Clear stairs first, then triple box. Use a smoke on CT to isolate the site. |
Inferno | Banana to B site | Smoke coffins, molly dark, flash over and push through. Speed is essential. |
Dust2 | Long doors to A site | Pop-flash the corner, wide-swing long. Smoke CT cross to isolate defenders. |
Anubis | B main with canals control | Use smokes to block heaven sightlines. Entry through B main with flash support. |
Ancient | A main to A site | Smoke off temple and push through A main. Watch for defenders holding donut. |
Trading & Teamwork
3 min
The Buddy System
Always enter with a designated trade partner who is 1-2 seconds behind you.
- Trade partner stays close enough to refrag within 1 second
- Trade partner pre-aims the angle the entry fragger calls
- Trade partner does not peek the same angle simultaneously
- Both players agree on entry timing before the round
When Your Entry Fails
Not every entry will result in a kill. What matters is the information and damage you leave behind.
- Even dying reveals the enemy setup for your team
- Tagging a defender makes the trade easier for your partner
- A failed entry can still force defenders to rotate
- Stay positive and reset mentally for the next round
Aim & Crosshair Placement
4 min
Your crosshair should always be pre-aimed at head level on the most likely enemy position. Good crosshair placement eliminates the need for large flick adjustments and dramatically increases your first-bullet hit rate.
Pre-Aiming Common Spots
- Memorize the 2-3 most common defensive positions per site
- Place your crosshair at head level on the first likely angle
- Clear angles one at a time, do not swing past multiple angles
- Use wall textures and landmarks to gauge head height
Spray Control While Moving
- Counter-strafe before firing for first-bullet accuracy
- Burst fire 3-4 bullets, then re-strafe and burst again
- Pull down during sprays to compensate for recoil climb
- Practice spray transfers between two targets on workshop maps
