Anubis Map Guide

Anubis rewards creative mid pressure, water control, and fast split timing. Both sites are vulnerable if defenders lose connector space.

CT Goal

Delay first contact, keep information alive, and retake as a group when a site is lost.

T Goal

Convert early map control into a split or execute instead of ending through one predictable choke.

Practice Focus

Learn a small reliable utility set, then add timing and trade patterns from the checklist below.

Core Callouts

Mid

Mid connects bridge, connector, and both site approaches. Control here creates dangerous split timings.

  • Top Mid
  • Bridge
  • Connector
  • Street
  • Canal

Water

Water is a noisy but powerful route toward B and connector. Teams can use it for pressure or late flanks.

  • Water
  • Boat
  • Pillar
  • B Long
  • Canal

A Site

A can be split from main and connector. CTs must protect the back site and heaven-style angles.

  • A Main
  • Heaven
  • Plateau
  • Default
  • Back Site

B Site

B is vulnerable to main and water pressure. Anchors need delay utility and a clear fallback plan.

  • B Main
  • Pillar
  • Back Site
  • Connector
  • Gate

CT Setups

Control Connector Timing

Connector is the hinge of Anubis. Losing it allows Ts to split either site and cut off rotates.

  • Contest with flashes, not dry peeks
  • Call water pressure early
  • Smoke connector when falling back

Delay B Without Overstaying

B anchors should slow the hit and survive for rotates. Water contact makes solo fights very risky.

  • Molotov B main or water choke
  • Use pillar as a delay position
  • Fall back before being pinched

Keep A Crossfires Flexible

A defenders need one player watching main pressure and one aware of connector. Do not both stare at the same choke.

  • Use back site and heaven crossfires
  • Flash main for information
  • Retake connector after early pressure fades

T Defaults

Open With Mid And Water Pressure

Showing both lanes forces CTs to guess whether the final hit is a B split, A split, or late lurk.

  • Use sound carefully in water
  • Smoke connector when crossing
  • Keep one player ready for CT aggression

Split B From Water

B becomes much easier when defenders are fighting two directions. Time main and water contact together.

  • Molotov pillar or back site
  • Flash over B main before entry
  • Plant for water if you own it

Punish Rotations Through Mid

Anubis rotations can be exposed. Holding bridge or connector after a fake catches CTs moving too early.

  • Do not give up mid for free after defaults
  • Fake B before ending A
  • Use late lurks to cut retakes

Utility Priorities

Connector Smoke

Blocks the fastest CT information route and enables mid players to move into split positions.

  • Use in both A and B plans
  • Watch for close pushes before it lands
  • Refresh for late rounds

B Pillar Molotov

Clears a common anchor position and forces B defenders into predictable back site fights.

  • Throw before the main swing
  • Pair with a water flash
  • Clear close right after it blooms

A Heaven Smoke

Separates A defenders from retake support and gives the bomb carrier a safer plant window.

  • Combine with back site molotov
  • Hold smoke pushes after plant
  • Plant for main or connector control

Common Mistakes

  • Ignoring water sound cues
  • Letting connector fall without a smoke or rotate call
  • Hitting B main alone into stacked utility
  • Leaving mid too early after a fake

Practice Checklist

  • Learn connector smokes from both spawns
  • Practice B splits from water and main
  • Drill A main entries with back site utility
  • Review rounds where connector control decided the rotate
