Inferno Map Guide

Inferno is a utility and spacing map. Banana control, apartments pressure, and late-round CT utility decide most rounds before the bomb is planted.

Map Profile

Utility heavy, narrow choke points, late executes

CT 54%

T 46%

CT Goal

Delay first contact, keep information alive, and retake as a group when a site is lost.

T Goal

Convert early map control into a split or execute instead of ending through one predictable choke.

Practice Focus

Learn a small reliable utility set, then add timing and trade patterns from the checklist below.

Core Callouts

Banana

The most important lane on Inferno. Banana control gives the T side B pressure and forces CTs to spend delay utility.

  • T Ramp
  • Logs
  • Car
  • Half Wall
  • Sandbags

B Site

A compact site where crossfires, smoke timing, and molotov clears matter more than raw duels.

  • New Box
  • First Oranges
  • Second Oranges
  • Dark
  • CT

Apartments

Apps creates A pressure without committing through mid. A lurker here can punish rotates and break pit setups.

  • Second Mid
  • Boiler
  • Apps
  • Balcony
  • Pit

A Long And Short

A site is attacked through arch, short, and apps. CTs need layered info to avoid getting split.

  • Top Mid
  • Porch
  • Moto
  • Library
  • Arch

CT Setups

Spend Utility For Banana Info

Use early HE grenades, molotovs, and flashes to either take banana or make the T side wait. Do not give it away for free.

  • Double nade common banana timings
  • Fall back after forcing utility
  • Keep one smoke for the late B hit

Layer The A Defense

A defenders should not all fight top mid at once. Play pit, site, and arch/library so one player always survives first contact.

  • Use apps info before rotating
  • Keep pit alive for retakes
  • Flash short from arch or site

Rotate On Evidence

Inferno rewards fakes. Rotate from B only after utility, bomb contact, or reliable teammate information.

  • Ask what utility was used
  • Keep one B player until bomb is seen
  • Retake banana before fully stacking A

T Defaults

Win Or Fake Banana

Even if the final hit is A, banana pressure forces CTs to hold B resources. Make defenders respect the B execute every half.

  • Clear close car and sandbags
  • Smoke CT before committing
  • Leave a lurk to punish pushes

Pressure Apps Slowly

Apps control creates late A options and catches CTs rotating through arch. Clear boiler and bedroom with flashes.

  • Avoid noisy solo lurks
  • Molotov pit before balcony swings
  • Sync apps contact with short pressure

Execute Late With Utility

Inferno T rounds often end after 45 seconds of control. Save enough smokes and flashes for the actual site entry.

  • Do not waste both B smokes early
  • Molotov common anchor spots
  • Plant for banana or pit based on space

Utility Priorities

Car Molotov

Denies the most common close banana hold and forces CTs into half wall or sandbags.

  • Throw early in defaults
  • Pair with an HE grenade
  • Clear logs after it blooms

CT Smoke For B

The core smoke for B hits. It blocks rotations and lets entries isolate site and oranges.

  • Combine with coffin or dark molotovs
  • Refresh for post-plant when possible
  • Do not block teammates entering from banana

Moto Smoke For A

Moto smoke cuts off library and arch help during A hits, giving entries cleaner fights against site and pit.

  • Use with porch and pit flashes
  • Watch smoke pushes
  • Plant before the rotate arrives

Common Mistakes

  • Giving up banana after spending all early utility
  • Rotating off B from sound alone
  • Dry swinging pit from balcony
  • Executing A without clearing apps or arch

Practice Checklist

  • Drill banana utility as both sides
  • Practice pit clears with flash and molotov support
  • Run late B executes with smoke refresh timing
  • Review rounds where your team lost info and over-rotated
